When challenging Mother Nature -anything is possible
|
There is no doubt Mica offers the best landscapes in the world for heliskiing. In Canada there are many beautiful things to see: the Pacific Ocean, the Artic Ocean, beautiful mountains and waterfalls.
French and British cultures are embedded in a unique cross-cultural territory, here in Canada. In Archaic days, Paleo-Indians lived and hunted in the archaic territory of Canada, long before the French and British colonization. By the 15th century, French and British explorers have found aboriginal groups and finally the explorers have stabilized along the Pacific coast. After the Seven Years' War in 1763, France gave up almost all colonies in Britain's' favor. The Statute of Westminster in 1931 concluded the autonomy of the American Confederation from the British Kingdom.
Hans Gmoser began transporting skiers by helicopter in the Rocky Mountains of Canada in 1965 and this is how heliskiing began. Heliskiing isn't for everyone. Only a good enough skier or snowboarder should take the chance of heliskiing in the mountains. A good health condition and a considerable experience in common skiing are important facts to consider when thinking of heliskiing. Heliskiing is for those who seek the extreme and are willing to accept the consequences which can sometimes be extremely harsh.
Going heliskiing may involve several days ofskiing and only a multiple year experienced skier can go day after day without suffering injuries. Good turns need to be managed and slide-slips, step-ups sideways, traverses and kick turns are really important in heliskiing. A heliskier should have "graduated" to professional equipment and should be able to understand the main differences between professional and non-professional equipment. The differences can save one's life. However, in heliskiing, when challenging mother nature, anything is possible and all Heli-ski operators will ask for the signature on personal responsibility before skiing.
Heliskiing Canada Mica is an extraordinary experience. The pure snow of the unsurpassed spectacular terrain can offer an adrenaline rush. The helicopter gathers a maximum of 3 groups with 4 members. Each group can benefit from custom services.
The skiing terrain for the first run is quite close - minutes away. There are many vertical skiing opportunities and the prices are quite fair in the advantage of customers. An A star helicopter will be shared by 3 groups in a total of 12 people. This is comfortable, safe and efficient. There is no need for waiting in line and a quarter million acres of wild terrain awaits the enjoyment of skiers.
Heliskiing is safer now that professional and certified guides are in charge. Injury free records have been established, thus experienced skiers can accept the challenge of nature keeping in mind that attention and a spirit of orientation is always necessary. Classical tours of 3-7 days include a minimum of vertical 4500metres/day.
Heliskiing in Canada can be a challenging opportunity and it takes a lot of energy and strength. Along with the clean air come the challenging lines with the rush of adrenaline. A good skiing gear is required and physical exercise is a must before skiing. It strengthens both muscles and bones adding a good exercise for the brain who will react better in both coordination and agility. |
