The Outstanding iPhone 4S Includes A Powerful 8 Megapixel Camera With High Definition Video

The iPhone 4S has already proven to be the most successful product launch to date for Apple. This is thanks to impressive features like its 8 megapixel camera, Siri voice recognition app, high resolution retina display and dual-core processor.
One of the most talked about features of this handset is the 8 megapixels camera, which offers some 3 million more pixels than the iPhone 4. I this article I will focus on how the iPhone 4S performs as a camera phone.
As mentioned, the iPhone 4S has an 8 megapixel camera. With 3 million more pixels than the iPhone 4, it offers greatly improved image quality. But the increase in pixels is not the only improvement made to this camera. Video can now be captured in 1080p quality (at 30 frames per second), which is double the 720p which can be captured on the iPhone 4. The built in gyro sensor works behind the scenes to offer a video stabilisation feature, meaning videos appear smoother. Many features remain the same; autofocus, LED flash touch focus and geo tagging are all included.
The iPhone 4S also has a front facing VGA camera. This can be used for self portrait photos and video, as well as video calls. These can be carried out over Wi-Fi networks with other iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 users thanks to the FaceTime application.
The camera on the iPhone 4S greatly benefits from the dual-core 1 GHz Apple A5 processor. The camera interface responds almost instantly. From the time of opening the camera app, the first photo can be captured within 1.5 seconds, with additional photo every 0.5 seconds. This is faster than most competing handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation.
The hardware of the camera has been improved also. There are now 5 lenses within the camera, meaning that images appear sharper, and the aperture has been widened, to allow more light to be captured within each pixel. The resulting images have to be seen to be believed, and thanks to the levels of technology incorporated within the camera, the iPhone 4S makes an ideal replacement for a standalone digital camera.
There is of course a lot to like about the iPhone 4S but the camera is arguably one of the most important aspects, as this is one of the main influences when choosing a new smartphone. It has no doubt been a large part of the appeal for many, and contributed to the popularity of this device.
