There are good times and bad times with doggy odour

When you own a puppy or a dog you have the good times, playing in the back garden or going out for a walk, and of course the not so good times when your pet overpowers you with its own natural doggie odour. Looking on the bright side his body odour can be lessened or gotten rid of with a quick fix of a home grooming session, before he is due to see his professional dog groomer.

Most veterinarians have stated that the natural doggie odour is produced by yeast, bacteria or excess oil seeping out of their skin. Most of the time, odours disappear after a bathing and their coats have received a good brushing and combing. However, if you have bathed your puppy or dog and the odour remains, it may be he or she has an infection in the mouth area or ears, and will need an appointment with your local vet.

Dog nutrition and pet diets, just like humans, are an important part of essential daily requirements, needed to promote a healthy lifestyle for now and the future. Both dogs and humans should have a healthy diet with balanced meals, low in fat and salt with plenty of fresh water and exercise. Requirements for an adult dog will vary according to each breed; small portions of dog food that was important for your pet at his puppy stage will not be enough for an adult dog.

At Hill's Pets UK we have on all our pet food feeding guidelines to keep your pet and his physical condition in good order, however the portions will need to be monitored and adjusted as needed while your pet continues to grow. Our superior balanced ingredients in our Science Plan Canine Adult Fitness pet food will ensure your pet dog feels the benefit while keeping his body in good condition.
