Chicago City: The City Full Of Historical Landmarks

Chicago is a city that's full of history which includes the "Great Chicago Fire" to the Roaring 20's, and Prohibition Period. Obviously, Chicago is often seen in movies that illustrate famous Chicago gangsters including Al Capone. Chicago is hot and humid in the summer, windy and cold during the winter season.
Chicago, is really a metropolis where it is the home of much of the arts, music, and foods that we appreciate these days. There are various festivals such as the Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival, The Tulip Festival, and The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival which begins the holidays with lights, parades, Walt disney Characters, live entertainers plus much more.
This excellent city also plays a part in the world of fashion with the largest wholesale fashion district on the planet that's referred to as "Chicago Wholesale Garment District." The Merchandise Mart, a sister to the Apparel Center, was completed in the 70's. The Apparel Center includes over 250 showrooms where clothing retailers and buyers meet for wholesale buying. The Merchandise Mart consists of over 130 showrooms that exhibit high end furniture, lighting and home extras.
Even though "Chicago Wholesale Garment District for buyers of huge retail stores, the Magnificant Mile is the buying mecca for the average person. The Magnificent Mile includes over 460 high-end retail stores, and abundance of hotels, and cafes. The Magnificent Mile is spectacular during the holidays with the lights, store windows dressed with holiday adornments, and the sights and sounds of the horse drawn carriages which travel the road.
Deciding on what to do in Chicago when your trip may be brief, and your children need to see and do all of it may be quite challenging. There are several great places to take your children where there are plenty of interactive things to do. The Field Museum is a favorite, where your kids can meet Sue, the most comprehensive, and largest Tyrannosaurus Rex Dinosaur displayed. There are interactive stations where children can dissect an owl pellet. They are able to tour and find out about Ancient cultures. There's a McDonald's on the premises. The museum can also be wheelchair accessible, and has manual wheelchairs available.
If you aren't scared of heights, and want a look at the town, a trip to the top of the 103 floor Skydeck is essential. Step out on the ledge, should you dare. The Navy Pier which sits on 50 acres is a favorite for all, such as the 15-story Ferris wheel. The Skyline stage presents Shakespearean plays along with other live shows.
During the summertime, there's a fireworks display every night. In the winter, join others on the open-air ice skating rink. For a pleasurable day, or a romantic evening, you will find sightseeing cruises, as well as great supper cruises where your supper is going to be served by singing staff. If Ferris wheels aren't to your liking, yet you like amusement rides, the ultimate ride are available with one of the Seadog Cruises which promises a wild, speedboat ride.
