Helping Other Consumers through Product reviews
|
Yes, online shopping is a big thing now. It is the preferred way of buying things over going to shopping malls and physically picking the most appealing items from the display available. People find the convenience, practicality and efficiency of online shopping very appealing that many people have actually gotten addicted to it. Merchants need to go with this trend, otherwise they will be left out and will end up getting a lesser market share from the pie. Thus, merchants or companies create their websites so that customers can freely shop from there, choose what they want, make a few clicks, have it delivered, and provide Product reviews if they deem it helpful or necessary.
Online shoppers love shopping through the internet because of the convenience it brings. They love being able to have the entire collection available to be ordered right in front of them clicking one button after another to have a view of all they could choose from. Shopping is literally done at one's own fingertips, and so is delivery. The moment the online shopper picks the item he wants, he should order the same and have it delivered to his address. He can then start using and enjoying it. But what can the merchants do to cause or encourage these online shoppers to provide them feedback?
Merchants selling online usually have in their sites some sort of a freedom wall. It is sort of like a freedom wall because anybody can write on these spaces about any of their insights, comments, feedback, etc. And the same are important for merchants and companies because this is one way for them to advertise their products and/or services. But after the consumers have received and used their ordered products, would they have the time and the appetite to get out of their way to create good or bad Product reviews?
There are ways for companies or merchants to encourage consumers to provide Product reviews. One is to give incentives to those who will provide helpful, honest and fearless feedback. The kind of incentives is the company to decide. Consumers can also be encouraged to provide feedback by giving them reasons why their Product reviews will be highly appreciated.
Product reviews by one customer help other customers decide whether it is worth buying or not. In the website, there should be something that would tell the other consumers that as shoppers they need to help each other buy only the quality products and not patronize those that will not bring them the value of their money. But thinking that every feedback can help other people in making the right choice and that one's self will also benefit from such, then it would not be too much of a hassle to leave a short feedback for other people to read. Feedback is helpful, whether they are good or bad. |
