EMDR techniques help combat the effects of psychological trauma

Victims of psychological trauma can end up trapped by recurring symptoms that affect their mental well being and destroy their lives. Without intervention and specialist help they can struggle for years to come to terms with the lasting effects this degree of trauma can leave people with.

Therapists and mental health care professionals are continually researching and refining different methods and techniques to help people suffering this cycle of recurring trauma. It's a long and frustrating process, but from time to time big breakthroughs are made.

One of the most exciting developments in recent years has been the discovery of EMDR techniques. EMDR stands for eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing. This form of therapy and treatment has been proven to make major progress with people suffering from severe psychological trauma. It can help them recover from the problems they are suffering from and start putting their lives together thanks to the relief and treatment that they provide.

In order to master these techniques mental health professionals need to train with a recognised provider of accredited courses. EMDR Works are very much at the forefront of EMDR developments. They have helped to pioneer the very techniques that they now teach to a range of people from across the caring professions. They offer public EMDR training in their training centres in London, Bristol and Edinburgh. So no matter where in the country people are based they can get access to the very best EMDR courses. For any organisation looking to train a large group then on site training makes perfect logistical and financial sense.

EMDR techniques are exciting and powerful. More and more people are keen to learn how to deploy them effectively to give their patients the help that they need. EMDR Works offer practical workshop style training meaning that students can start practising these interventions as soon as they return to the workplace.
