The Importance of Worktop Samples.

When constructing a new property or overhauling a current existing building, there are numerous important decisions to be made towards generating the perfect living space to suit the requirements and taste of all individuals. Each detail, irrespective of scale of importance, can make all the difference towards producing a stately home to be proud of and feel comfortable inviting visitors without any concerns. Kitchen design is arguably one of the most important aspects within any household as it is the predominant area in which food is cooked and prepared. For these reasons, individuals who spend a significant amount of time within the kitchen require a spacious and hygienic area in which to operate in towards baking and cooking food for themselves, family members or friends.

It is fundamentally important to choose the right materials to use upon worktops, not only for style and utility purposes but also durability and functionality, particularly with the types of equipment used within food preparation. Beach worktops and iroko worktops are just two examples of wooden finishes available within kitchen which provides significant benefits over other alternatives such as marble and plastic. Although it is recommended to place chopping board on top to prevent potential damage caused by sharp knives or other implements, wooden worktops maintain their authentic quality whereas plastic can become distinctly marked and marble can erode and chip away after extensive use.

Home owners who choose to integrate wood within kitchen worktops then have to decide between the wide range of timbers available within home design. Beech and iroko are hardwoods traditionally used for tables, kitchens and floorboard with both woods offering contrasting benefits; beech worktops provide durability and an abundance of character due to light and dark contrasts within the grain, whereas iroko timber is much stronger in colour yet perfect for work surfaces as a hardwearing form of wood.

Solid work top specialists understand the dilemma faced by home owners choosing from the numerous timbers available for kitchen worktops, and accordingly offer samples to assist within the decision-making. Samples are traditionally available at 200mm x 150mm x 40mm to ensure individuals evaluate the texture and quality of each wood to avoid installing a wooden worktop which does not produce the required impact or performance.
