Silver is the New Gold

Raid your moms jewelry collection and you will find the dominating pieces of jewelry. Yes, they are the sparkling, shiny, yellowy, sunny, and bright colored, gold pieces. Who does not have one jewelry piece that is made of gold?

Gold has certainly gone through a heyday in recent years. An entire peninsula, the Middle East, has become well known during the age of gold because of the areas abundance of this type of element. Gold has both become a symbol of luxury and a need during its peak era.

However, times have changed and so have the trends. Gold jewelry pieces still sell like hotcakes but there is another type of jewelry that are selling faster than a hotcake. Silver jewelry pieces are selling fast like sidewalk hotdogs. Visit some of the cutting edge jewellery retailers such as Tiffany & Co., Silpada, SR Silver of Australia and Pandora, sterling silver is their business.

Silver is now the new gold. The once taken for granted element (which is a neighbor of gold) has been ignored in the past fashion eras. Precious silver was often to make utensils or other household products. It was never thought of as something to be worn or showed off to the world. Silver is no longer for utensils. In fact, today, it is one of the highly sought after jewelry pieces wherever in the world.

Sterling silver is the new gold because it paved the way for an opportunity to flaunt, but without the big statement of a gold piece. Gold is too shiny and bright in itself already. Flaunting it becomes a sin in fashion. Silver, on the other hand is more subtle and is very much underrated as an attractive jewelry piece. You can wear a silver jewelry ensemble yet keep the subtle charm of it, in contrast with the gold pieces.

Silver is the new gold because silver can be appropriate for all ages- from little girls to grandparents. Unlike gold which finds for a favorable age, usually middle adults to late adulthood. Silver can be seen as a funky, chic, suitable for professional wear, to elegant wear,no matter the age. Silver will not make any of its wearers very young or old looking.

In addition, silver is also the new gold because all jewelry categories or types look good in a silver finish. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and even anklets all look good in a silver finish, no matter what their designs are. Moreover, silver pieces are also 'adornment friendly' because soft stones and other gems look very good on them, regardless of their color or cut. Silver jewelry pieces tend to 'welcome' these accents, unlike gold. A gold jewelry piece can tend to be 'choosy' in the accent that it goes with.

To finish, silver is the new gold because more and more people are shifting to silver jewelry pieces because of the plus points outlined above. Any silver piece can compliment any person, at any age, and any occasion.
