Why Do I Need A Tree Consultant?

Anyone who has ever bought or sold a piece of land will probably be familiar with the tree surveys> tree surveys are carried out on land in order to identify any potential problems which could be caused by trees on a piece of land. It is quite surprising just how destructive a rogue tree can be to a property, so it is of the utmost importance that these surveys are carried out. A tree consultant is a person qualified to carry out these surveys on land in the UK, but do you need one?

Are Tree Consultants Necessary

When buying a new property. We all call in a surveyor to check over the property and ensure that it is fit for purpose, after all, property is expensive and we would be mad not to carry out these checks before spending a huge amount of money on a property. However, few of us ever think about employing a tree consultant to ensure that the property surrounding our land is safe and poses no threat to our property. This can be a huge mistake as trees can cause serious damage to a property and can also pose very real health risks too. So, if you are thinking of buying a property on land which has trees, shrubs or other large vegetation, you should seriously consider calling in a tree consultant as soon as possible.

Warning Signs

There are several warning signs which, if spotted, should immediately prompt you to call in your local tree consultant. Below are just some of the signs which could point to a serious problem with one or more of your trees.

Cracks Around The Roots

Cracks around the roots of a tree, or roots which have begun to lift up out from the soil could be the sign of a bigger problem to come and could point to an unstable root system. This would be a very real hazard which could cause problems if left unchecked.

Fungal Spores

If fungal spores begin to appear on your trees, it is time to call in a tree consultant. A lot of the fungi’s which appear on trees are harmless but some do contain harmful pathogens which could cause illness if breathed in, so it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Electrical Wires

If a tree is beginning to grow towards electrical wires, you will need to consult with a tree consultant immediately as the threat of electrocution is very real.
