Australia - Immigration Issues And also you!

Australia seems to be in the grip of schizophrenic policy-making currently. On the one hand, they are desperate for immigrants into the future and be employed in Australia to assist fill the present skills gaps, and on the other, they are continually tinkering and tweaking immigration rules to really make it more difficult for individuals to actually make move. So what's going on? Find out within my 'immigration issues and you' report.

Australian immigration issues seem complex. Would they want website visitors to come and help or don't you think? Do they have a skills gap or don't they? Why is Australia closing it's borders for just one sector, but pushing to start them up more for one more? Confusing mainly because it seems at the moment, there is a reason for this dilemma.

Immigration has received a major affect Australian life for a lot of centuries. The initial European round started with the dumping of British convicts in 1788, when upto 160,000 convicts were shipped on the Australian colonies.

From then on, the growth from the woollen industry and gold rush made a huge need for overseas workers that have been mostly satisfied by Chinese, British and Irish immigrants desperate to escape poverty and unemployment home. (Nothing new there then!). Other nationals soon followed.

Australia's migration programme today attracts hopefuls from over 185 different countries. Migrant workers swell the tax purse and make more business to the country overall as tax contribution outweighs the extra cost of services.

So far so good. Everyone should be happy.

But there is a downside.

Australia can be attracting huge amounts of refugees desperate to escape economic meltdown and nervous about persecution. Arriving via the back door through boat smugglers and human trafficking, lives have been lost as well as the Australian economy drained as few refugees are repatriated and for that reason require economic support.

Understandably, politicians and citizens are worried and the policy makers making the effort to haul within the "Australian Life" dream so that they can keep power over its borders.

Whilst the optimal migration policy remains hammered out, exactlty what can you do to help yourself find your way through the immigration maze in your ideal job in Australia?

1) Look into the Australian Government's skilled occupation list. This list houses every one of the current 'in demand' occupations plus the number of points awarded. If you're able to see your profession or skills mentioned, you are well placed to finding a new job. Should your job isn't listed, it indicates there are enough Australians to pay for the need and you really are not required!

2) In case you are aged 18-45 years and are really keen to emigrate in the course of the future, think about re-training. Some reports point out that jobs continue be readily available to overseas workers for the following decade, and a few think that the process will become stricter and harder as time progresses.

3) Investigate Employer Nomination Scheme. This route bypasses a heap of immigration issues because you will be trying out an employed position offered before you decide to arrive.

The chance to see if your distinct skills provide a sponsored nomination, check out JobContinental. We specialise in offering employment in the Australian mining and natural resources industry, which currently requires multiple thousands of workers to aid fulfil its contracts.
