Rajasthan Forts and Palaces Tour- A Royal Experience


Rajasthan, one of the most popular travel destination in India, is known for its historical monuments, hospitality and the different culture one gets to see here. Most of its hotels and resorts are internationally acclaimed and awarded too. A perfect blending of age old traditional culture, modern luxury and comforts. Known for its palaces and forts, Rajasthan is the royal state of India.

The must visit forts for anyone are Jaisalmer fort and the Amber fort.

Jaisalmer fort - A fort beautiful enough to take you back in to the princely era of the country. Situated in Jaisalmer, this was constructed in the 1156 A.D. The fort was build on orders of Bhatti Chief Jaisal on the Trikuta Hill. It is one of the largest forts in the world, it has four massive gateways.

Amber fort was ancient citadel of the ruling Kachhawa clan of Amber, before the capital was shifted to present day Jaipur. Situated in the Amber city, it is some 11 kilometers from Jaipur. Known for its unique artistic style, it is a perfect amalgamation of Hindu and Muslim elements. The fort borders the Maota Lake and attracts a lot of tourists from the whole world. on the ride to the fort, on elephants, one gets to see the skyline of Jaipur, Maotha Lake,and also the real city walls.

A Tour to Rajasthan is incomplete without a visit to the palaces, such as the City Palace, Jal Palace, Jaipur and the Udaipur Palace.

City Palace, Jaipur- this palace holds a unique palace for its outstanding art and architecture. Built by Maharaja Sawai Singh, during his reign between 1729 and 1732 , this palace is huge and has a lot to offer to its visitors. It The palace is a must visit.

Jal Palace, Jaipur- Developed as a recreation spot, this palace is another magnificent example of good art and architecture. At a distance of 6.5 kms from Jaipur, on the road to Amber, this palace was built in 1799. The now abandoned but well preserved this palace looks very beautiful and magnificent in monsoons, specially because the effect which is created by the red sandstone set against the lake which is filled with hyacinth. A good place to visit for people who need quite.

City Palace, Udaipur- One of the very popular palaces of the city, this is another huge palace. Built in a flamboyant style, this palace also features in the James Bond movie Octopussy. The movie features the Lake Palace and The Monsoon Palace. Udaipur has also been rated the top city by the Travel and Leisure in the World's Best Awards.
