Use of men wedding rings started much later

The start of the use of wedding rings lies deep past in the history; it was first seen among the Egyptians, then in Rome and after that it slowly spread all over the world. The Egyptians used leaf or hay to make the rings; the use of metals for making rings started much later. Previously, wedding rings were used by the women only. Men used to offer the ring to the women, the acceptance of the ring by the women meant that the woman is ready to make the man her husband and the woman became a property of the man by the acceptance of the ring. The use of men’s wedding rings started hundreds of years later during the Second World War. At that period, men had to stay away from their beloved wives for months, so they started using these rings to keep the memories of the time they spent with their wife all the time. From that time, the use of men’s wedding ring started among the people and it is practiced till today.
Nowadays, men’s wedding rings are used vastly all over the world and they share the same importance as that of the women’s rings. In the wedding ceremonies, both the man and the woman exchange wedding bands as a gesture of accepting each other. These rings involve deep sentiment and form a bonding between the husband and the wife. This ring has got deep significance in a person’s wedding and his entire marital life; the ring has got the power to keep the husband and the wife mentally, no matter how far they are from each other. The wedding ring is often considered as symbol love, trust and commitment of the couples towards each other. And these significances of the wedding rings drive people to purchase the best rings for their partners. Purchasing a wedding ring for the marriage ceremony takes form of a festival among the people. They spend huge amount of money and time for buying the best ring available in the market.
Several online stores have grown up which provide excellent rings having gorgeous designs and stones studded on them. However, most of these rings are very expensive and many people generally fail to afford such gorgeous rings made of platinum or gold and diamonds studded on them. These jewelry stores also provide cheaper wedding rings made of gold having no such designs or any expensive stones. These rings are comparatively cheaper but are extremely eye catching. Numerous types of such rings of varying qualities and cost are available in the stores and people can purchase any ring that they like. Moreover, some jewelry stores also sell rings in return of installment based payments. This gesture of the jewelry stores has made the job much easier for the people. Now they can buy any ring they want, no matter what its cost is. However, people seldom keep in mind the price of the rings; they spend huge amount of money for buying the best ring available. |
