InDesign is, in its most basic format, a graphic design computer programme which allows the user to completely format the layout of any page using graphics, photographs, text, fonts, styles and themes as well as manipulating certain details. It is mainly intended for use by professional graphic designers and principal artists and is used in the production of magazines, brochures, posters and books. InDesign has been developed and is manufactured and distributed by Adobe Systems.
It is commonly used by magazine editors, designers, and other professionals and is seen as one of the most innovative and useful products on the market for graphic design.
How to use it
As with any new or developing product it is especially important to be able to use all functions in order to reap all of the related benefits and rewards. InDesign is no different and thanks to the demand for training on basic and advanced levels of the programme and its capabilities there are now many online training tutorials in the functions of InDesign. One of the major criticisms of virtual InDesign courses is that they only cater to a specific part of the programme and do not encompass the entire programme, it’s functions or the true and full scope of its abilities.
