Budget Hotels, Phuket Style
|
Yes, you're a tourist on a budget. And yes, Phuket isn't one of the more budget-friendly tourist destinations in the world. It is first-rate property, and one of the hottest, fastest rising vacation spots in the world. Hotels and resorts here are world-class, and so are their prices, unfortunately. But don't despair there, budget traveler. There are hotel offerings here in Phuket for you, too. For the budget travelers out there, here is an amazing list of budget hotels, Phuket style.
1. Nanai Villa - this is not a joke, but when the ad says Nanai Villa costs only 420 baht or roughly $14 a night, you might want to hold on to your chair lest you fall off. Astonishing? Yes it is! Is it true? Absolutely! For 14 dollars a night, you get to stay at a middle class, 3rd star apartment-hotel that will make your stay both enjoyable and also cheap. Is it Hilton? Naw, off course not. You're being offered a budget hotel, not a bleeder hotel. Unless you want your pocket money drained on hotel tips alone, you best put your mind off luxury and concentrate on serviceable. And yes, for however cheap the nightly rent is, Nanai is clean, safe, and very well serviced. Who says you can't find budget hotels? Phuket proves you wrong, yet again.
2. Paradise Beach Resortel - by the name alone, you know you're dealing with something special here. Before you scoff and say, "paradise can't be this cheap," don't look now but the price tag on their cheapest rooms says "505 baht" or in American dollars, 17 bucks, or roughly the price of 4 and a quarter Big Mac. What? Yes. For the price of four Big Macs, you can spend a peaceful night in this hotel which also doubles as a resort. The question of whether this is paradise, is left in your hands to answer. But this is definitely one for the list in budget hotels. Phuket vacation, here you come!
3. Club Bamboo Boutique Resort and Spa - just when you think things couldn't get any crazier and any cheaper; here comes Club Bamboo Boutique, a resort neither made of bamboo or a boutique with a spa. Disregarding the name for the moment, what will attract you to this resort is the jaw-dropping prices on their rooms. 378 baht? Twelve dollars? Your neighbor paid you more for cutting their grass than Club Bamboo is asking you for a night of stay. But who are you to complain huh? A budget traveler knows where their heart belongs. And before your wife says be wary of cheap, look at its rooms and majestic surroundings.
4. Patong Premier Resort - so you're feeling kind of generous and going for broke? Well, nothing says opulence than the word "premier." At 926 baht or $30 a night, Patong Premier Resort would be the priciest hotel/resort in this list. It won't break a hole in your wallet, sure. It remains affordable yet at the same time, a bit more lavish than the others. |
