NEBOSH stands for the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health. They are an independent exam board specialising in health and safety related qualifications. NEBOSH training is designed to help people to study for and pass their NEBOSH exams.
Who Needs NEBOSH Training?
NEBOSH operates in 33 countries and around 30,000 people take their exams every year, so there is a lot of demand for NEBOSH training. If you want to work across the world NEBOSH training is for you because many of the international health and safety bodies recognise NEBOSH qualifications. This includes the IEMA which is the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, the IOSH or Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and the IIRSM who are the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.
Anyone considering a career in health and safety needs NEBOSH training, but the majority of people who take the course are just managers who are responsible for some aspect of health and safety in their workplace. The course is very thorough and is suitable for any level of management regardless of the type of workplace they work in.
Finding Good Quality NEBOSH Training
NEBOSH does not run any courses they simply provide the syllabus to be followed and the exams to be taken once that syllabus has been completed. Instead they have over 400 accredited course providers throughout the world.
There are several NEBOSH qualifications, each requiring a different course of study. Training providers have to be accredited to run a course for each of NEBOSH’s individual qualifications. This means that whoever you decide to do your NEBOSH training with will provide good quality training. However, you need to check that they are accredited to run that particular course before signing up with them. Something you can do on NEBOSH’s own website.
The best way to find NEBOSH training is to do an online search. Look for companies who run courses in your area. The best companies are well established and run a wide variety of other courses. Take your time before signing up for a course and check the fees for the course first. |
