Hocine Sidi-Said lead the UCB (Union Chimique Belge) as the President of Emerging Economies, which was a group of 13 chemical and other intermediate organisations in the year 1928. UCB is a company which does the research and development of new and innovative medicines that treat and manage conditions of the central nervous system (CNS) and immunology. UCB is now a globally recognized biopharmaceutical company which has offices in more than 40 countries and employee strength of about 9000 personnel worldwide.
Hocine Sidi Said started working with UCB from March 2005 as President for the Emerging Markets Region and served the company for over 3 years. Before he joined UCB, Hocine Sidi Said served Pfizer Ltd for over 17 years in various top level management and business development roles in Asia, the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe. While working with UCB, he served as the President for Latin America, Africa as well as the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions. During tenure at UCB, Hocine Sidi Said contributed heavily in doubling the revenues in less than 3 years with help of his highly dedicated and experienced management team.
During Hocine Sidi Said’s years at UCB, the company grew to newer heights as a global biopharmaceutical company and expanded considerably in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. UCB thereby created a strong market presence in emerging key markets such as China, India, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. Hocine Sidi Said had the opportunity to demonstrate his leadership abilities and management skills in various complex emerging markets and tough business situations across new markets. He has been instrumental in motivating and engaging his colleagues and team members to achieve the challenging goals for the company.
Hocine Sidi Said has been involved in several humble charitable works, which were highly appreciated all over the pharmaceutical industry for their focus on the target communities. The main initiatives that were undertaken during his period were Naee Nigah Program, Arpana Research, Can support and Charities Trust. |
