Holiday cottages Cornwall

For unique holiday cottages Cornwall has some of the best

When it comes to holiday cottages Cornwall has millions. From quaint village residences to remote country houses, visitors are treated to some of the widest choice and variety in this part of the South West. If you are looking for unique, quirky or unusual holiday cottages Cornwall offers some of the country's most special places to stay. Here are a few of the best.

Hayle Railway Station, St Ives Bay

Why stay in one of the holiday cottages Cornwall boasts when you can stay on a train? Don't worry, you won't end up in Scotland, because this train is going nowhere. A former 1957 corridor coach, this unique accommodation provides comfortable sleeping quarters, complete with genuine luggage racks, brass lamps and sliding doors as seen on Humphrey Bogart films.

Shepherds hut, Moyles farm, St Miniver

Shun all ideologies of luxury and get away from it all in this perfect two person retreat near Polzeath. A rustic wooden hut, once used by shepherds to escape the Atlantic storms, this accommodation today features a wood burning stove, luxurious double bed and absolutely no electrical gadgets whatsoever.

Wolf Rock Cottage, Lizard Point

At the other end of the scale, this is one of the holiday cottages Cornwall boasts that cannot be beaten. Located in the former lighthouse keeper's cottage, the property has three bedrooms and access to the West Tower, a lighthouse tower which can be ascended for show stopping views of Britain's most Southerly point.

Gypsy Caravan, Constantine

In a secluded corner of a working farm on the Helford River, this stunning and fully restored showman's wagon is now cozy and well equipped accommodation for two people to enjoy. The caravan comes with a private meadow and an organic farm on its doorstep, perfect for a getaway and an experience a bit closer to nature.

Danescombe Mine, Calstock

In the heart of the picturesque Tamar valley, this is one of the most unique holiday cottages Cornwall has, although it could hardly be called a cottage! The mine was used to harvest arsenic and copper until the 1900s and after lying empty for many decades, the Landmark Trust took it over and converted it into a truly unique holiday let for up to four people.
