Can You Really Potty Train An Infant

Infant potty training is a very appealing alternative to late potty training. This term implies that you can start potty training your youngster in the first six months of hi or her life. Some studies have shown that the infant is prepared to learn new things from the very birth moment. As long as there is no pressure on the baby but there is a lot of perseverance and motherly warmth, infant potty training can be rather successful.

The same studies have shown that in the first 6 months the newborn child is very receptive to whatever surrounds him, noises, images and so forth. Therefore it will be rather easy for the mom to help her child associate sounds and places in the house, like the bathroom with the time or the moment of potty going.

However infant potty training requires a great deal of patience and attention on the mother's part. The mum has to study the youngster and solve the moments when the baby needs to go. Body language is the key to everything connected with this. She has to study the child and establish what body language or what cues the young child uses right before he/she is ready to get rid of.

Some babies may become abruptly quiet and show marks of concentration, others may stare someplace around the distance, others may change their face to make grimaces, others turn their little bodies stiff and their legs may become tense, others simply twist and turn. It is widely thought that all moms actually can identify when children are set to go, it's just that they haven't considered infant potty training at such an early stage.

After understanding the timing and the cues that the newborn child gives involuntarily to the mom, it is time to begin infant potty training. First the mother needs to be near to the baby when it is prepared to go and begin making a hissing sound or use the term pee. She should repeat this every time the youngster seems prepared to get rid of so that the youngster will associate his mother's sounds with peeing. The nest phase is to again anticipate, make the hissing sound and then take their child to the toilet and hold him there above the toilet to pee.

He or she will soon come to associate the mother's sounds with the rooms and the peeing. This is what infant potty training consists in. It has been proved that kids who begin infant potty training will surely have no more accidents after two years old and they will be fully independent when looking at utilizing the potty or the toilet.
