What Are Trained Dogs?

There are many kinds of trained dogs in the world. Some carry out very important tasks that keep us safe, such as, search and rescue and detecting drugs, bombs or firearms. These kinds of trained dogs are very much in the public’s eye so most people are aware of them. However, there are other kinds of trained dogs that people rarely think of despite the fact that they too are in the public eye.

They are the dogs we see in films, adverts and at special events performing tricks or acting in the theatre. They too are trained dogs.

Who Uses Trained Dogs?

Trained dogs are used by a wide variety of organisations and businesses. Trained dogs pose for photos that are normally used for printed adverts or act in TV adverts. They also play roles in films and for the stage. You will also see them in pop videos and viral videos that are used to promote products online.

Some companies use trained dogs to appear at live PR events. A few even use dogs as their mascots and use them in live events and much of their advertising.

Finding Trained Dogs

There are now quite a few firms out there that claim to have trained dogs on their books, which you can use for your advertising or promotional campaigns. However, you have to approach some of these firms with caution because not all of them offer a good service.

Look for experienced firms who are happy to show you work the dogs they are offering you have done in the past. Some of the best agencies have been around for decades and have a long history of working within the entertainment industry. Generally speaking, these are the best firms to use because they have access to a wide range of dogs and can match your needs exactly.

When looking for trained dogs it is important to be precise about what you need the dog to do. In turn listen to the agency because they will advice you on whether what you want is realistic and suggest alternatives.
