Liquid Graphics Make A Difference To The Blackberry Torch 9810

The new Blackberry Torch 9810 offers the perfect compromise between messenger device and large screen smartphone. The new model offers many improvements over previous releases and may well prove the most popular handset in the impressive range of devices. Here we take a look at what features we can look forward to on this highly anticipated new model.

The Torch 9810 is just one of several new models that have been released incorporating version 7.0 of the ever evolving Blackberry operating system. The great thing about this new platform is that it is much more in line with recent offerings from the likes of Android and Windows. Visually the platform looks superb, gone is the dated menu system and the user is now faced with a slick and colourful interface with a host of shortcuts and time saving functions. The OS uses a new Liquid Graphics system to ensure that the visuals always look great and the high quality screen is used to its full potential. The system also uses an improved web browser that is not only faster than previous versions but also is HTML5 compatible. Research In Motion, the firm behind the Blackberry range state that this new browser is 45% faster than previous versions which gives users a much more satisfying online experience. The handset offers a great range of connectivity options meaning that regardless of your location you should always be able to gain internet access. The fastest of these options is undoubtedly WiFi and the phone supports all three speeds that are currently available. WiFi is superb when at work or at home but whilst on the move the phone utilises the 3G network for speedy data transfer. If you are unlucky enough to find yourself in an area not covered by 3G you have the likes of EDGE waiting in the wings to offer a speedy alternative.

The Blackberry Torch 9810 incorporates a high quality camera which gives great results for both still photography and video capture. Despite the resolution of the still camera remaining at 5 mega pixels there are numerous other areas that have received a boost. The digital zoom facility has been doubled from earlier models and Geo Tagging and Face Detection have both been added to the cameras list of features. It is the video capture department however that has undergone the most change. Here the quality has been raised to High Definition standard thanks to the 720P resolution that is on offer. This quality of footage can be very demanding on the phones processor so luckily the 9810 offers a very fast 1.2Ghz chip and the RAM memory on the device has also seen an increase in size to 768MB.

The evolution of Blackberry handsets continues to impress and the Torch 9810 is one of the most pleasing offerings yet thanks to the inclusion of a full keypad and some welcome updates to both the software and the internal components of the phone.
