Dont forget - different printers need different types of ink cartridges

There are many different types of printers you can buy depending on what your requirements. If you just need something to find a few documents now and again at home, a basic model will do. If you're a business owner and you need to print in high quality and large volume, you'll probably want to invest a little more and get something ultra reliable and long lasting.

In the same way there are are many different options when it comes to printers, so too for the ink you put inside them. Some ink cartridges are really expensive, so when you choose your printer in the first place, check out the price of refills, otherwise you'll end up paying a small fortune over time. Much more in fact than you paid for the printer itself.

There are several different types of printer, which all need different types of ink cartridges. Inkjet printers are great for the home for the office. They can print at a decent quality and are often available in bundle deals with scanners, making them great value.

Laser printers are more expensive than inkjet, plus you have to remember they will use more ink too. However, the quality of printing is incredible and so too is the speed. If you have the budget, this is the best option for a business that needs to print a high volume of quality material.

If you need to print photos, then consider a dedicated photo printer. Inkjet and laser can perform this function too, but not to the same extent. You simply won't get the same level of definition as you would with a photo printer. They don't come cheap, but if you're a keen amateur photographer or you run a photography business, it's worth the outlay.

Some businesses end up opting for multifunction printers, which have scanning and copying capabilities built in. A great all round option and well worth considering.
