Working Safeguarding Adults

If you want a satisfying career look no further than the care industry. When people think of care work they think of care homes for the elderly, but the industry is much wider than that. A lot of care work is aimed at safeguarding adults who cannot care for themselves, so you could be working with vulnerable teenagers helping them to stay in school or avoid joining street gangs. Or you could find yourself working to safeguard adults who are homeless, in prison, who have learning or physical disabilities or working with the elderly in their own homes in day centres and care homes.

The great thing about the care industry is the variety of work you can do and the range of people you can work with. If you concentrate on adult care you could be working with anyone aged 16 to 100+.

Why Safeguarding Adults Training Is Important

You can, if you are very lucky, get a job in the care industry without any training. However, these jobs are not well paid and are exceptionally rare so breaking into the industry without any training is difficult. Plus more people are qualifying all the time, so if you apply for a job without a safeguarding adults qualification there is a good chance you will be up against someone who has done their safeguarding adults training. You can guess who is going to get offered the job.

This means that if you want to break into the growing adult care industry completing some form of safeguarding adults training will help you a great deal.

Finding Safeguarding Adults Training

Fortunately, safeguarding adults training is not expensive or time consuming and provided you concentrate you should be able to complete the courses without too much difficulty.

The best way to find training is to search online. There are a lot of companies offering this kind of training, but the quality of the courses offered varies considerably. The best ones are CPD certified and offer you the option to study from home. The price of courses is low, starting at £30.

Author Resource:- The Safeguarding Adults E-Academy offers a wide range of safeguarding adults courses meaning whatever kind of adult care you want to do they have a course for you.
