Motorcycle Paintwork
|
When choosing any type of vehicle, be it a weekend runaround, a family carrier or works van, most people would agree that even if they simply wanted a reliable method of getting from “a” to “b”, that looks are key. There are so many unattractive choices on the market and with so many of us becoming increasingly judgmental nowadays it’s little wonder that the way a vehicle looks have become as important as their reliability and reputation at the top of our list of priorities.
It’s just as true when choosing a motorcycle that leaning towards a bike which is aesthetically pleasing becomes doubly important. After all, the traditional methods one might employ to improve the appearance of a car such as a body kit, girlie eyelashes or an amusing bumper sticker are hardly applicable to the two wheeled counterpart.
Once the motorcycle has been selected and chosen on its ability to give out the right impression about you it’s essential to keep him or her (your choice!) in the peak of physical condition. Whether it’s the repair of a microscopic chip to the handlebars or a full re-spray or even the customisation of your motorcycle you’re seeking the highest standards of quality and durability.
To the casual observer motorcycle paintwork and its repair or maintenance might sound simplistic at best with cans of metallic spray being sold by all but the smallest hardware stores for reasonably small amounts and masking tape sold in almost any imaginable retail outlet.
Obviously there’s a little more to it than the uneducated might be able to imagine with a complex mixture of chemicals designed and blended specifically to give the correct sheen and durability and machinery designed specifically to ensure the paint is distributed in the exact right ratio to the space available to give an even finish with no tell-tale streaks or dotting.
After all, if reputation is sealed and appearances are made on the method of transport a person chooses nothing is more certain to damage the goodwill than a poorly applied or maintained paint job. |
