Deepak Kamani – A great Environmentalist and motivator

In 2011 the Kamani Foundation conducted an extensive awareness program on “Minimising Environment Pollution”. This program was primarily focused on reducing vehicle-related pollution by bringing awareness of its uses, misuses and repercussions.
As part of its environmental initiatives and community guidance programs, the Foundation planted trees in nearby schools with the active participation of school children.
The Foundation also supported the local self-government in canal cleaning of Kumarakom to ensure free-flowing and clean water to the fields and homes. It has also donated a water pump set and a long view torch set for the use of the local Police Station.
Deepak Kamani is the financial wizard behind the Zuri Group’s impressive growth but under his professional cloak lies a conscience that believes that community awareness programmers are imperative to help the development of society.
Deepak Kamani, the strength behind Zuri’s global expansion, holds education as the primary factor in the growth of children and believes in working with the student community to supply the support required. At the beginning of the academic year of 2011, it distributed note books and uniforms to the poor and needy in association with the local bodies, associations and other social partners.
The Kamani Foundation, a charitable trust, regularly donates regional books to “Mercy Ravi Memorial Library” - Kumarakom Library that is largely used by the local youth.
The Foundation also actively participated in the “cleaning of school premises” along with the Chamber of Vembanad in Govt High School, Kumarakom.
It is Deepak Kamani’s earnest belief that work has to be established in a way so that the community grows along with supporting the education system.
The Foundation has disbursed an aid of 20,000 note books and full scape books so far, with a total of 5,000 students having received the aid.
The foundation also provides with books, pens, pencils and related educational aids for the children and good and clean environment conditions.
