Last minute getaways are known to be a great deal cheaper than advanced bookings, but are they actually a practical option for most?
It would seem as though late deals should be more popular. If they were the best option for everyone, everyone would be booking last minute to save themselves a great deal of money, and in turn these late deals would simply cease to exist. So the fact that they endure must mean that very few people still utilise late deals, making them still affordable for companies to offer.
So why is it that people choose to continue to book so far in advance despite the far lower cost of waiting until the very last minute?
Ultimately, those with children or who have jobs that mean their holidays have to be taken at very specific times might not have the flexibility needed to utilise late deals in the way they should be used. By waiting until the very last moment it may be impossible to find a holiday you want on the very specific dates you have to play with.
However, with the abundance of late deals available, not finding something is becoming less and less likely. Likewise, the cost of extras such as Leeds Bradford parking have also altered so that those going last minute are not severely penalised (although there is still a chance you may be able to find specific deals if you do book car parking at Leeds Bradford far enough in advance. However, the huge savings of a late deal could cover any slight extra cost here many times over).
The other benefit of late deals is the surprise factor. Not knowing where you will be going until the last minute can serve to heighten the excitement even more when that great destination is finally booked.
So late deals can be great for almost everyone. Just be sure you make a checklist in plenty of time. You don’t want to forget about booking that Leeds Bradford parking simply because you only knew where you were flying from a day or two before... |
