Is Speed Important in Your Kitchen?

Being able to turn orders around as quickly as possible may seem extremely appealing for many catering services, but is speed more important than quality, or vice versa?

Obviously, the more food you can get out, the higher your turnover is likely to be. However, being too fast can actually be detrimental to some establishments as time and quality are often intrinsically linked within the consumer’s mind and therefore by serving up a dish too quickly, you could actually end up putting people off – even if you serve the very nicest food, it may well be already sullied in the customer’s minds.

If you are looking to cut overheads, extra speed will be great. If the faster speed of offering food can mean you can cut your prices and still appeal to your target market, choosing catering equipment that will let you achieve the same quality at a faster speed is going to be a very big coup. However, this doesn’t mean that those who want to keep up the illusion of slaving away for a long time can’t benefit from increased efficiency.

The same commercial catering equipment that reduces time greatly can be employed by caterers and kitchens at all ends of the spectrum. So long as the quality remains the same, it simply means more time can be spent paying attention to other areas or even that fewer staff members are needed – therefore, the right catering equipment may save even more money for businesses.

Speed is important, no matter what you are offering – whether you want to keep people happy by not keeping them waiting, reduce the cost of your meals, or whether you simply want to make your own life easier and your kitchen much calmer, the right commercial catering equipment could be all that you need.
