WIRP – online conferences to produce and disseminate knowledge


The access to knowledge, after an effort of researchers around the world to convert face-to-face conferences to online ones, is now more democratized. Meeting online is cheaper (there isn’t transportation fares and lodging expenses). Besides the economics advantages, it avoid tons of CO2 from airline emissions.

In the WIRP Online Meeting (www.wirp.org), academicians and practitioners present researches and discuss current issues online, making a more sustainable meeting without sacrificing the communication efficiency.

WIRP's online platform opens access to any researcher independent of its place of origin. It is divided in thematic areas and the participants can at any time attend the previously available presentations during the event. The debates occur in virtual rooms with resources of audio and video, making possible a perfect interaction between the participants.

The first time that an online conference technology was used in substitution of a significant academic and professional face-to-face meeting was in Sourh America. It was an initiative of researchers from renowned Universities to facilitate relationships among those who share a common interest within such a huge dimension country as Brazil.

It started as a meeting in the field of Business Administration (www.convibra.com.br) several years ago, wherein people coming from different regions could easily meet together online. In this way a low cost interaction has been made possible.

In 2008, the menace of an economic recession made several researches and universities cut travel and lodging expenses. It became a great impulse to the popularity of online meetings.

Today, after several editions it has become a tradition in conferences calendars, attracting researchers from several countries. In spite of the low cost, the democratic participation and the simplicity of use, its attractiveness nowadays comes more from the climate awareness.

The same web-based platform which has been developed since the first meeting in 2004 is being used today by the World Institute for Research and Publication to help researchers around the world to create, develop and disseminate knowledge. The WIRP Annual meeting takes place online via VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol).

To participate is extremely easy and a satisfying experience, it is also a great opportunity to every researcher willing to have his papers, seminars or conferences available for debate among peers from the most prestigious Universities of every part of the globe. WIRP is open to areas as: Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Education, Medicine, etc.
