The advantages of toner cartridges over ink cartridges.

With almost every business, company, school and home in the United Kingdom having access to at least one computer it follows that the statistics for printers is also incredibly high. As most tangible information taken down on paper has been printed instead of hand written it is not hard to see why the numbers of printer cartridges used every year is massive. Most people do know of the type of printer they own and which type of printer cartridges they have to buy but how many are accurately aware of the difference between ink cartridges and toner cartridges and which one is the best to opt for. If we look at the advantages and disadvantages of ink and toner for a standard printer that is used in the home or office there seems to be a superlative choice.

There are two types of printer: inkjet and laser which are named so for the different methods they use during the process of printing. Inkjet requires ink cartridges whilst laser printers use toner cartridges. The printers use different methods of transferring the different substances onto the page with inkjet usually using heat whilst laser, as the name suggests, uses lasers. Ink cartridges are usually cheaper to purchase as printer ink is relatively low cost. At first toner cartridges can seem the least beneficial option as they are usually more expensive but, when looked at long term, they are actually more economical.

This is due to the number of documents they can produce from a single cartridge in comparison to an ink cartridge. Many people often consider toner cartridges to be the best printer cartridges as the particle size changes the resolution. Opting for a smaller particle size can produce better quality resolution. Toner cartridges seem marginally better than printer ink cartridges but it is ultimately personal preference as both are still relatively equal in popularity.
