Repairing A Laptop

Laptops are one of the most valuable and important commodities that we possess, they serve us very effectively where ever we go and make our work efficient. However all our laptops and other such kind of notebooks get damaged very frequently and often need repair. Although most of the problems can be fixed only by the manufacturers, there are a lot many that you can do yourself without spending a lot of time and money. Since you keep carrying your laptop all the day and thus you often plug in and plug out the charger it gets damaged often. If the cord of your charger gets frayed you can easily re-do it by spending only a minimum sum of money. If you are not interested in repairing it then the alternative is buying a new one which means much more cost than required. Otherwise you may get into a fire hazard or get an electric shock. Thus in order to repair it first of all you will have to gather the material. Things that you need are silicone sealant, painter’s tape and the protective gloves.

The efficient way of repairing the cord will be to cover it with a duct tape. When you are rolling tape on the cord make sure that you begin two to three centimeter downward and roll it till you reach two to three centimeter above the damaged part and apply several layers of tape for proper sealing. However this will give bad appearance to your cord. The better and more permanent approach will be to use the sealant. Sealant will seal the damaged part and prevent it from further damage and insulates it to prevent you from getting any current. If you are thinking of replacing the cord it is obviously the best and the most expensive way. Find the cord adapter that suits your laptop and buy it from the country franchise. Another most frequently encountered problem is that the case may get cracked due to constant opening and closing of the case. Also you may drop your laptop somewhere damaging or breaking the body. If you want to repair it you will need epoxy putty for the purpose. First clean the surface on which you have to place the putty and prepare it by mixing it over the hands.

Make it a cylinder and roll it in the several layers like you do with your playing dough. Press it firmly in the damaged area. Shape it well in place and use a razor to shape it. Then allow it to dry for two hours. Once dried use a sand paper to clear the edges and also paint it to give a good finish. If you are having a noisy or a bad fan, the repair is simple. Take a screwdriver to open the laptop case. Locate the fan and clean it and all the grills around it. Many times this will simply solve the problem. If the problem is not solved replace it with a new one and close the lid. You can now enjoy efficient working.
