U.S. Election Economy As the Focus of Heated Debate

Congressional mid-term elections will be held on November 2, the current Democratic and Republican campaign has been heating up. In this election campaign, the war in Iraq, Afghanistan war and the fight against terrorism, the degree of concern than in the past suffered a decline, abortion, homosexuality and other social problems will be cool, most voters concerned about the most important economic issues. Republicans use the people's dissatisfaction with state of the economy, the Obama administration's policy "bombing"; the Democrats attacked the Republican "too conservative", insisting that the party of "change."

During the depression, economic issues, voters most often a topic of concern. Financial crisis led the U.S. into the last century 30's "Great Depression" has been the most serious economic recession. Although since the second half, the U.S. economy back on growth track, but the slow pace of recovery, especially in the job market is still sluggish.

Brookings Institution expert on U.S. politics and Thomas Mann, said: "The election of the three core topics: employment, employment, and employment." He believes that high unemployment, sluggish economic growth, income growth stagnant , personal assets shrink, all of which led to the current economic situation and prospects of the people particularly on the pessimistic.

Deficit is also one of the issues voters care about. Before the crisis, the U.S. government is deep in debt, the large-scale crisis fiscal stimulus is the rapid expansion of the federal government deficit, fiscal sustainability has become the U.S. economy is not a huge worry.

Health insurance reform second only to economic issues of concern. Obama came to power in promoting the reform legislation, the most controversial health care reform. Republicans in the election manifesto promised to seek revocation of health care reform bill. However, a number of polls results, even though voters divided on the issue in a serious health care reform, the proportion of opponents with minor upper hand, but support the complete overthrow of the health reform bill is not predominant.

Obama the Government to promote financial regulation, immigration, energy, education, election reform is an important issue heated debate. Obama won the 2008 presidential election, largely due to Latin American and Africa, the support of minority voters, which campaigned on a promise to promote comprehensive immigration reform, focus on resolving the status of illegal immigrants inside. However, due to the constraints of the Republican Party, Barack Obama on immigration reform, the Government has not made significant progress.

The campaign strategy, Republican and Democratic parties were clearly different. Republicans take full advantage of the majority of the public on Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress of discontent, to the mid-term elections positioned as a Democratic administration of Barack Obama and a "referendum." The theme of the Democratic Party will strive to be elected as a "choice": the representative of the Democratic Party is to choose "change", or the Republican Party's "anachronistic."
