Personalising Your Student Accommodation

House Hustler offer beautiful student property but obviously without your own personal items the student homes won’t actually feel like home. However, when you’re renting student property it is often hard to fully personalise your accommodation as you cannot paint the walls, change the furniture and so on. House Hustler wants your student house to be as homely as possible so here are a few tips on how to personalise your student accommodation:

1. Lamps – it’s always a good idea to purchase lamps for your room as these can add a little colour and mood lighting to your room.

2. Storage boxes – you will probably need storage boxes to stash text books, excess food, shoes and so on. Buying these in wicker or different colours also allows for personalisation of your room.

3. Photos – these are a great way to personalise your room, particularly within varied photo frames and so on. Equally, some student accommodation will have pin-boards within the rooms so you can always pin hundreds of photos of family and friends up here. Make sure you have looked into whether your student accommodation permit the use of blue-tac if you are thinking of sticking photos to walls because if they don’t they may charge you for blue-tac marks.

4. Posters – again, another great way to personalise your room and add some colour but you should double check as to whether you can use blue-tac. If not; you could always attached it to your wardrobe or bedroom door.

5. Electrical Items – these are fantastic for making your room feel like home; nothing brings home to your new room than a TV, game station or computer.

6. Bedding – this is a great way to add a touch of your personality to your room and however much colour you desire!

You may be worrying as to what you’re going to need to buy for your university student accommodation but once you’ve bought bedding and packed up your photos, electrical’s and all other personal possessions, you’ll soon find your new room overflowing with your personality.
