HOW TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE

Foods that have high amounts of cholesterol and fats are usually the most delicious and craved for foods. These foods are usually what doctors would inhibit us from eating for the promotion of good health. Most of the time what is bad for us, turns out to be the most delicious things we have ever tried. Take for example cigarettes, to the smoker population it tastes so good and addicting that they cannot stop from smoking more than a stick of cigarettes in a day. Alcohol like cholesterol-full foods and cigarettes is also bad for our health. It is these and poor lifestyle habits are what contribute to the risk of high blood pressure which could in turn to heart diseases, stroke and kidney failures. Blood pressure is the amount of pressure that the gush of blood flowing from the heart to the more distal parts of the body exerts on the arterial walls of the blood vessels. Blood pressure can be measured through the use of a stethoscope and a sphygmomanometer that puts a cuff around the distal part of the arm and whereas the stethoscope is placed right above the brachial artery to monitor the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The normal blood pressure is 120/80 and below, if your blood pressure reads 140/90, you have hypertension or more commonly known as high blood pressure. If you are thinking that since you are young and you are safe from Hypertension, then you got it all wrong. It does not follow that with lower age, you are safe from Hypertension it just means that you have a low risk of having Hypertension. What makes older people prone in having high blood pressure is that they are getting weaker and weaker over age, and it means that the heart may be a little strained from pumping humungous amounts of blood towards the other parts of the body. The best way to prevent and decrease Hypertension is through change of lifestyle, this more powerful that drinking medicine. What you should do is exercise, eat healthy foods, avoid cigarettes and alcohol, and try relaxation and breathing techniques.
