Keeping Your Workplace Focussed

Having focus within your workplace is integral for productivity. However, there also needs to be a fine balance between keeping the workplace focussed and creating an atmosphere that is stifling to both creativity and enjoyment. People need to feel comfortable, but not so comfortable that they get no work done.

Balancing the two can be very hard. Much of it is to do with how you treat your staff. If you are fair and supportive, they will simply want to achieve their best for you, whereas if you come across tyrannical they may well feel obliged to try and get more work done, but they will rarely go out of their way to do it to the best of their ability. With morale low, the workplace will suffer in many different ways.

On top of how you treat your staff, the layout of your workplace will also have a major impact. Office partitions can be a great way of removing certain distractions, whilst room dividers can help you create a space that is far more conducive to the work that needs to be carried out.

Using office partitions allows people to have their own space, not only removing distractions but also giving them somewhere that is uniquely ‘theirs.’ It may seem like such an approach will serve to segregate staff, but there are many different options than can remove distractions but still leave staff able to communicate as and when they want to.

Room dividers offer plenty of scope too, allowing you to have far more flexibility in how you set up your office. They mean that you can often utilise more space without people feeling uncomfortable, and therefore you will get more done simply because people will be able to get their jobs done without feeling that they have people all around them seeing exactly what they are doing.

So if you want a focussed workplace, remember that the way you treat your staff and the room itself can make all the difference you need.
