Conversion Rates - Are You Killing Yours Without Figuring out It?
|
The biggest challenges that an online marketer or a webmaster faces is not driving traffic, but converting the visitors into valid customers. So that's what we'll be covering today, how to maximize your conversion rates.
One of the most important things you can do in your copy for better conversion rates is offer proof to back-up your claims. In other words, when you say something, always use a proof to back it up. We all know there are thousands of less than honest people selling things on the web. All any honest marketer can do is the best we can do; so provide as much rock-solid info that you can to help show people your assertions are correct. Your entire website impression plays a part in the overall positive or negative impresson visitors have of you, and when they finally (hopefully) read your sales material, they carry that impression with them as they read. Show them that what you're saying isn't bluff but is actually something concrete. Get creative as much as you can, and don't be afraid to experience with mediums like video to explain your points. What you ultimately choose as far as your medium is concerned should be the best fit for your sales copy. There are other strategies such as using reviews from industry personalities or expert endorsements. So work on that because it's worthwhile and truthfully it is something too few marketers really give attention to.
Design your website's nav as cleanly and simply as possible. You really never want to give your readers too many things to choose because the affect can be undesirable. You have to make the road clear for the visitor and help him/her take the action you want, not get lost on your site. You will not find a well-converting and highly traffikked website with poor nav layouts. Most sites put the admin links in the footer; contact, terms of use, disclaimers, etc. Try searching in Google for ultra competitive phrases like finance, weight loss, or something similar; and then click on the top three to five spots and see how they do it.
If it's at all possible, have a copywriter take a look at your copy and offer some suggestions for improvement. Of course, if you wrote your copy, and you're not a copywriter, then try to find a less expensive but competent copywriter to rewrite your copy. It's possible your copy may only need some small adjustments, but you will never know until a copywriter examines it.
Don't stop here in your efforts to learn and increase your conversion rates.
