TV viewers may benefit from enhanced C4 content

These days, people with TV aerials in Cheltenham, including those who have made use of aerial repairs in Cheltenham, have access to a wide variety of programmes. Many such people sign up to special pay TV deals, so they can access a broader range of shows and can get packages that are tailored to their individual preferences.

In news that may be welcomed by consumers, one of the major UK channels has revealed it is to improve its content, meaning people may get to pick from an even more impressive selection of viewing experiences.

Channel 4, which is a publicly-owned, commercially-funded public service broadcaster, recorded net profits of £38.6 million last year following improvements in the advertising market.

As a result of the boost to its finances, the organisation noted it has been able to invest an additional £50 million into content across its portfolio.

Chief executive of Chanel 4 David Abraham said: "2010 was a year of transition and Channel 4 has entered 2011 ready for the future. We have a new management team in place, we are refreshing our schedules and we are ready to provide content wherever our audiences want to consume it.

"Across 2010 the increase in our revenue allowed us to make extra investment in content and key technological developments to benefit the audience."

And it may not just be those with TV aerials in Cheltenham, including people who have had aerial repairs in Cheltenham, who benefit from the improved financial health of the broadcaster. Mr Abraham noted that the channel contributed £1.1 billion to UK GDP and supported a total of 28,000 jobs.

Launched in November 1982, Channel 4 is not shareholder owned. Rather, it is governed by a unitary board made up of executive and non-executive directors and alls its profit is directly reinvested into the delivery of its public service remit.
