The Stunning Sony Ericsson Arc Is A Fantastic Media Handset

The new Sony Ericsson Arc is one of the most advanced handsets out there, and arguably one of the best looking. Whilst it is an accomplished all rounder, it excels at multimedia functionality. In this article I will look at some of the features which make it a great device for multimedia use.

Screen
The Sony Ericsson Arc boasts an advanced LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen. Not only is it responsive and intuitive to use but also offers outstanding display quality. This is thanks to the pixel resolution of 480x 854, within which up to 16 million individual colours can be displayed for a rich multimedia experience. Viewing photos and videos on this screen is a treat as is gaming, surfing the web or even just navigating the Timescape UI in general. A big part of the multimedia appeal of the screen is the built in Sony BRAVIA Mobile engine. This calls upon the maker’s years of experience in TV manufacturing, giving an edge over the competition.

Camera
One of the first things that people look at when buying a new smartphone is the camera. The Sony Ericsson Arc is certainly a great cameraphone, with an 8 megapixel offering on hand to take high quality snapshots with the minimum of fuss. It contains enough image enhancing features to keep photography enthusiasts happy, whilst remaining easy enough to use for beginners or those who simply like to take spontaneous snapshots. Touch focus, image stabilization face and smile detection and geo-tagging are all included as standard along with multiple shooting modes and effects options. As well as still images, the camera is also able to shoot video footage. This is in 720p HD at a rate of 30 frames per second. Continuous autofocus and a dedicated video light keep the quality of the video consistent. An HDMI port means you can connect the handset to a compatible TV and view your footage and photos on a the big screen.

Other Features
The Sony Ericsson Arc supports numerous video and music file formats and had a pre-installed 8 GB memory card (can be replaced with a 32GB card) so it has the features to essentially replace an MP3 player. As well as this, a stereo FM radio player, TrackID application, Flash and social networking compatibility are all included as standard. Of course the handset can also browse the web, supports multiple messaging formats as well as many other standard smartphone features.

As you can see the Sony Ericsson Arc is a great multimedia device, but this is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of its functionality. As an added bonus it looks great and is also one of the slimmest smartphones available. Overall there is little to dislike about this phone, as it offers appeal to many different types of user.
