Knowing The Syllabus Of IAS, Civil Services And Bank Exams Thoroughly Pays Rich Dividends

Entrance exams hold the importance in the competitive world of today. Most of the professional as well as the technical courses that are pursued by students have to be entered through the gates of one or the other entrance. Even for securing ranks in the jobs, the students are required to pass through stringent set of exams.

Banking, administrative, defense, teachership, and such jobs in the government and some private sectors, require the students to clear certain exams. The civil services exam is considered to be a gateway to one of the most revered jobs in India. Qualifying in these exams, allows the candidates to get top notch posts in the administration of the country and the states.

The IAS exam is therefore a very prestigious exam making it one of the reasons for the large number of candidates appearing for the test. As much as the exam is revered, it is equally an arduous task to clear it. Unlike any other exam in India, the civil services exam is designed to test the all round knowledge of the candidates.

The syllabus for the exams are also designed in such a manner which allows the students to pick a subject of their choice, while keeping the topics on general knowledge same for all the candidates. This allows the students to be conversant with general topics that are same for everyone while being masters of the particular subjects that they can choose from the list provided in the syllabus.

There are two parts of the IAS exam, the preliminary and the mains. Preliminary exam is conducted to test the overall knowledge about the current affairs and the multiple choices in one of the chosen subjects. It is only with the clearing of the preliminary test that the students are allowed to appear in the mains exam where long type and short questions from two chosen subjects are put. The test is spread over many months and requires a long period of preparations. Since the candidates are required to study extensively, they can take the help of the syllabus that is provided with the prospectus or with the advertisement.

Similarly for the bank exams, the students should solve previous years’ question papers to get conversant with the type and module of questions. The questions involved in these exams are of the logical reasoning and simple mathematical types, which are to be solved in the limited time period. These questions can be properly solved with an eye on the time, if similar questions have been practiced and students have found a way to solve the problems easily.

For the civil services exam, the preparations can be easy if the syllabus is strictly followed and candidates should try to know as much as possible about topics from the syllabus. In fact, the success stories of most of the successful candidates do denote their thorough preparations according to the syllabus. And this is what many of the experts and the coaching centers also teach their students. It is hard work to do such a type of preparation, but the results are precious enough to sufficiently compensate for the hard work.
