Why Use Banner Stands

Banner stands are an underutilised advertising tool. Lots of people order great big PVC banners and merely hang them on a wall or string them up from the ceiling. They do not realise that using banner stands gives them so many other options.

Using banner stands will allow a PVC banner advert to be set up anywhere there is some level floor space. Banner stands are light, easy to store, flexible and can be reused hundreds of times so they are economical.

Indoor Banner Stands

Most banner stands consist of a simple cross bar with weighted legs that sits on the floor, with a height adjustable upright pole coming from the stand terminating in a cross bar or hooking point at the top. They are very much like the stands used for projection screens. The advertising banner is stretched between the top and bottom cross bars.

Roller banner stands are probably the easiest to use. The PVC advertising banner is rolled up around a roller at the bottom of the stand. To display the banner all you do is pull the banner upwards and hook it to the top of the banner stand.

Tension banner stands are a simple metal frame across which the advertising banner is stretched a bit like a painting in a light frame. They are great for creating backdrops or walls of advertising and cope with very big advertising banners.

Outdoor Banner Stands

Outdoor banner stands are more substantial than those designed for indoor use. Because they have to cope with the wind they have to be built differently. Outdoor banner stands usually consist of a square metal frame, which is set into blocks that can be filled with water or sand to ensure that the whole thing cannot be blown over by the wind. The advertising banner is affixed to outdoor banner stands using two additional horizontal steel rods attached to the metal frame. This means that the minimum amount of banner stand is visible to potential customers and that the banner can be stretched sufficiently to stop the wind spoiling the look of the banner.
