Buy shelving units for a better spring clean

Storage- or, to be more exact – lack of storage, may be a BIG issue for a lot of us. You may find yourself tripping over toys and books with nowhere to put them. Perhaps, your bookcase or cupboards are so filled to bursting that they are actually making the place look untidy? Certainly, there is something you can do to solve this storage nightmare?

If you have not already been using your basement or attic space for storage then think about moving some items up there today. On the other hand, if that avenue has already been exhausted then it may be time you installed some shelving in the bedroom or even the garage.

Your children may have a lot of toys and books just lying around. Start by having a clear out of what they would like to keep and what you can take to the charity shop. Then by installing some shelves in their bedrooms, these can be used to showcase their favourite toys or books. And voila- no more mess lying around on the floor.

The garage may also be a hidden gem for some storage solutions. Think about putting some shelves up to house tools, Christmas decorations and even clothes. Make sure to put items that may be prone to get mouldy in some airtight containers or bags though to keep them feeling and looking as fresh as the day you store them away.

If you do wish to store some heavier items such as paint, sports equipment and tools away in the garage, make sure that you always put the heaviest objects at the bottom of the unit. This will decrease the risk of them falling and injuring anybody close by. It may also be a good idea to secure the items against the wall using furniture straps.
