How to Stay Healthy on Holiday


Looking forward to your holidays to Majorca? Make sure that you take care of yourself so that your holiday fun isn’t spoiled by an illness or an injury.Nothing would bring your holidays to Majorca down more than being too sick to enjoy yourself in this beautiful destination!

So how can you make sure that you stay healthy so that you can enjoy yourself on holidays to Majorca? Here are a few helpful tips:

Be sun safe. The sun is a lot hotter in Majorca than you are used to, and if you are not careful you could end up with heat stroke or a nasty red peeling sunburn. Always wear sunscreen with an SPF rating of at least 15, and reapply it every few hours or more frequently if you are swimming or sweating. Wear a hat with a broad brim to protect your face and head from the sun. Try to stay out of direct sunlight for extended periods of time between the peak hours of noon and 3 pm.

Drink a lot of water. Because your body is not used to the heat, you will find yourself getting dehydrated faster. Keep sipping water throughout the day to avoid heat stroke and to keep your energy levels high.

Watch your alcohol consumption. The hot sun will speed up the effects of the alcohol and make you dehydrated much quicker, so be sure to moderate your drinking.

Get lots of sleep. Although you will be excited about being in Majorca and want to see as many sights as possible, don’t get yourself burned out. When you are sleep deprived, your immune system is lowered and it is much easier to catch a cold or flu, so try to get your required rest every night.

Get your exercise. Don’t neglect the health benefits of daily exercise just because you are on holiday! On the contrary, the beaches of Majorca are a perfect place for an invigorating swim or a long walk.
Taking care of yourself and keeping healthy on holiday will help you enjoy your trip a lot more because you will have more energy and feel fantastic!
