For students aspiring for a medical seat in medical colleges in India, the task is not very Herculean but still a big feat. Compared to other streams like engineering and management, the number of seats in medical colleges are less and even there are a fewer medical colleges. This is because the cost of medical education is a bit on the higher side. This factor increases the competitiveness.
But still, students have the aspirations of becoming a doctor and serving the society. This dream is possible to be fulfilled with a start in the medical college admissions through the AIPMT 2012. The All India Pre-Medical Test is conducted every year for students immediately after the 10+2 courses for science stream. With successful rankings in the entrance exams, the students can take admissions in the many government medical colleges and dental colleges of their choice.
Through this entrance exam, it is possible to take admissions in different colleges throughout the country where 25% seats are available for students securing ranks in the AIPMT 2012. The test is being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, in two phases, the first being the screening test while the 2nd being the final exam for the students clearing the screening test.
The AIPMT syllabus for the entrance is the same as what the students have studied in the 10+2 level and includes physics, chemistry and biology with both botany and zoology, without any mathematics. This goes on to suggest that the students who are interested for the medical entrance exams should concentrate more on the biology subjects rather than on the mathematics with equal importance to the physics and chemistry.
In a way, the AIPMT syllabus is easy because these are the subjects that the students read for two full years before they are eligible for appearing in the entrance test. Therefore knowing the facts and reading through the course materials is not a very difficult task. The point of concern for the AIPMT preparation therefore is about the manner in which the preparations are done. The questions that are set in the exams are of the objective types and students are required to pass through two tests.
The competition for studying medical is so high that a vast number of students appear for the entrance exams. It is this particular point which requires that the students should prepare meticulously so as to minimize the wrongs rather than try to tick of every question possible. This kind of an approach is more favorable for getting a rank in the AIPMT 2012.
All the students who are appearing for the entrance exams must have studied a lot. But those who get the meritorious ranks are those who make the least mistakes.
