Rajasthan India Tours – Visit The Land Of Kings And Royalty

Situated in northwestern India is a land of exquisite beauty known as Rajasthan, meaning "Abode of Kings". Every year millions of tourists from all over the world visit this kingly state. You’ll find yourself engulfed with the majestic beauty, picturesque lakes, serene temples and gardens full of exotic flowers. No matter from which walk of life you are, the diversity of Rajasthan will always captivate you with its charm. Some of the most popular destinations are Jaipur, Udaipur, Mount Abu, Jaisalmer, Pushkar and Jhalwar.

The most visited tourist destination in India is Jaipur, and rightly so, because the moment you enter the city it bedazzles you with its mesmerizing beauty. Jantar Mantar (the astronomical wonderland), Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds), City Palace, Amber fort, Central Museum, Jaigarh fort; the list is endless. You can also take an Elephant Safari and enjoy the grandeur of the Amber Fort.

One of the most preferred hill stations of India is in Rajasthan, known as Mount Abu, where tourists can enjoy the glorious surroundings in pleasantly cool weather: a perfect getaway for the scorching Indian summer. The oasis is covered with naturally decorated forests, wild flowers and gushing waters. It is a great couples’ retreat as well, and is known for its many romantic honeymoon points. Families can visit various temples and Buddhist caves.

Udaipur is aptly named the City of Lakes, as it has got many splendid lakes to boast of. Some of the most beautiful lakes and majestic forts are Pichola lake, Fateh Sagar lake, Monsoon fort, Jag Mandir etc.

So, visit and lose yourself to the myriad of marvelous monuments, fascinating temples, historical forts and splendid lakes. Whether it is Jaipur, the Pink City, Udaipur, the City of Lakes, or Jaisalmer, the princely city, Rajasthan is rich in heritage, history and natural beauty.

Rajasthan has a rich and historical background to its culture, which reflects the rural life of India. Folklore has got an important part to play in its culture; from folk dance to daily household work, everything depicts the culture of Rajasthan. Some of the folk dances are Ghoomer and Kalbeliya, and the cultural instruments are Dholak, Sarangi and Sitar.

Rajasthan is also known for traditional artwork, like Sanganer and Bagaru prints, Zari embroidery, handicrafts and blue pottery. It’s also got traditional dresses with sequin work and bright colors, known as Lehngas, available at highly affordable rates. The main religious festivals of Rajasthan are Holi, Diwali, Gangour and Janamashtami, reason being the prominence of Hinduism in the state, which is the main religion. Fairs with snake charmers, puppeteers, folk dancers, traditional acrobats and camel rides also form an important part of the culture.

The food is influenced by the great tradition of kings and princes of yore, who enjoyed a tradition of sumptuous feasts everyday and used to go for Shikar (hunting). The influence of Pathan invasions has brought barbecued Kebabs into the food culture of Rajasthan. Dried lentils and beans is the staple food of Rajasthan, which are the products of plants like Ker and Sangri. Rotis (bread) are made of Corn and Bajra and can be had with pastes and spices made of garlic and onion.

Monuments, forts, temples, lakes, sand dunes and oases: no wonder Rajasthan is the most visited tourist destination in India! There are various travel agents who’ll easily book your tickets, and once you visit the place you’ll surely fall in love with it.
