Kindergarten programs for your toddler


The word ‘Kindergarten’ which is a German literally means ‘children garden’. Kindergarten is form of school where the child gets his or her first experience of education. Kindergarten programs are designed for young children to help them in their transition from home to the commencement of more formal schooling. Most of the countries Kindergarten are a part of preschool system of early childhood education. Children usually attend Kindergarten between the age of two to seven years depending on the local and countries requirement. Due to changes in the lifestyle of the society where there are more number of single parent or where both the parents are working the full day Kindergarten programs have started becoming popular. Families find it difficult to schedule both Kindergarten program and a child care program therefore the concept of a full day kindergarten programs have gained more importance and recognition. Basically Kindergarten whether it be a half day or full day program the main aim of the Kindergarten program is to provide the foundation from which the students can grow to become active participant in the lifelong learning.

The main goals that the Kindergarten program that are designed to achieve are:-

-To develop the child confidence in themselves and develop their ability to learn.

-To create the sense of curiosity in them and to help them focus their attention

-To help the child to acquire communicative competence

-To help the child socialize, build the ability to relate to other children and adults.

-Giving them a sense of individuality and help them grow and develop their own potentials.


The Kindergarten program believes that each child is worthy of respect and encouragement. They also believe that the growth and learning are a continuous process, and last but not the least that all aspects of development of the child is important as they are interrelated. The fabulous kindergarten programs make the teacher of the kindergarten play a most vital role in forming an impression in the child mind. The teacher’s behavior towards the child gives the child the secure feeling which is a must for the child to be able to learn and interact with other children and adults in the school.
