The Excellent Mini Handset Range Continues With The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro

For years now mobile phone purchases have been based on a number of different factors. These range from the design and styling of the model to the technical specification. Sony Ericsson have taken a different approach to this with the introduction of Greenheart. This gives customers the opportunity to purchase a handset based on how environmentally friendly it is, an area which is becoming increasingly important. The new Xperia Mini Pro is one of the first handsets from the brand that is designed and built using the Greenheart standard.
Greenheart is the result of years of research into producing a handset with a minimum impact on the environment but not at the expense of any features that you would expect to find on the phone. This philosphy does not only relate to the production of the handset but also other aspects such as design, packaging, shipping and recycling. What Sony Ericsson have undertaken here aims to see the company reduce its carbon footprint by 20% before the year 2015. Also as part of the companies on going recycling programme they hope to collect one million handsets a year. When you look a little closer at some of the finer points of this system it is indeed very impressive. No paper manuals are supplied with the phones now having them installed internally and even peripheral items such as the phone chargers are now designed to use less energy. This puts Sony Ericsson ahead of the competition in this department, but do the new handsets impress as much when it comes to specification?
The new Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro follows on from last years X10 Mini Pro which was one of the highlights of the range. Very rarely do you find a high end smartphone that is compact and yet still sports a slider designed Qwerty keypad. This is set to make the phone popular amongst business user especially as its design is backed up with a some excellent facilities. "Exchange ActiveSync" enables users to quickly and easily synchronise your phone with your office email and calendar. The handset also features Office Suite software that enables you to view files and prepare presentations whilst on the move. It is not only business user who will be drawn to this model but also younger generations attracted by its social networking integration. Facebook features heavily and is not only useful for viewing friends statuses but also for transferring data stored on the site and integrating it into your contacts list. This data can range from photographs to forthcoming birthdays.
Sony should be applauded for the Greenheart philosophy and what is even more pleasing is that it has not compromised the quality of their handsets, with the Xperia Mini Pro being a prime example of this.
