Many people feel that Twitter is a really warm and inviting community that allows them to connect with people based on shared interest in specific topics and you need to make sure that you have been accepted by that community before you start sending out dozens of promotional offers. When you start getting followers those followers will expect your tweets to be of good quality. But instead of that if you bluntly start marketing your products/services, it will be a huge turn off to your followers, making your whole efforts go fruitless.The best approach on Twitter is to start out by sending out lots of free and useful targeted niche information to your followers and then, after a while, start slowly filtering in marketing messages when you know that the response to them will be good. Besides that, being a part of the Twitter community will itself benefit you in building a long term business through it. So keep your marketing at bay, at least in the start. Be a good Tweeter first and then, when you've built a good reputation, start your marketing.
Another twitter marketing error involves spending too much time with and being nice to your followers. Of course, you shouldn't flood them with millions of tweets per day, but you have to stay on their minds. As you build up your following, you still want to be sure that you are providing them with helpful tweets so that they remain loyal to you and respond to your offers.
