Setting Up Offshore Companies And Their Benefits

Many entrepreneurs and businesspeople understand the inherent benefits of establishing offshore companies but believe that it is illegal, difficult, or expensive to do. The reality, however, is that it can be perfectly legal and legitimate, inexpensive, and with the right help it can be very easy and quick to do too. In fact, depending on the jurisdiction in which you wish to establish an offshore company, it could be set up within 2 days. The majority will take between one week and two weeks.

Tax benefits are the biggest pull for people that set up offshore companies. The term “offshore”, in this respect, means jurisdictions that have low or no tax rates. A business that is established in one of these jurisdictions is not subject to the same tax rates as businesses that are established in the UK and this enables you to protect or grow assets. You can also protect your privacy and the privacy of other directors through the use of nominee directors and shareholders.

If one or more of the directors of the company wishes to remain anonymous then a nominee director can be named instead. The actual director retains complete Power of Attorney for the company but it is the nominee director who is named in the company records. A similar arrangement can also be made for shareholders.

The actual director of the company retains full Power of Attorney which means it is they that have complete control over how the business is managed and which direction it goes in. The nominee director even signs a letter of resignation immediately and this is given to the actual director with a blank date so that they can simply date it and submit it on behalf of the nominee director.

Offshore companies are a legitimate means for many people to set up a new business and avoid the comparatively high tax rates in the UK. Directors and shareholders can also retain their privacy through the use of nominee directors and shareholders and offshore companies present the directors with a means of setting up a business that is in close proximity to their main markets.
