Gail Porter shows off locks after recovery from hair loss

Bubbly Scot Gail Porter has been showing off her new locks after recovering from a five-year spell of hair loss.

The TV and radio presenter, who once famously had her nude image projected onto the Houses of Parliament, has appeared numerous times in the media since her tresses began to return and one of her recent TV interviews was on the sofa with GMTV presenters Andrew Castle and Emma Crosby.

Whereas until now, her hair had been patchy in its re-growth, it is now looking considerably stronger and thicker.

She shook a full head of locks - which have been dyed her trademark blonde - in front of the TV audience.

Porter developed alopecia during a period of stress and doctors had warned her she may never recover her tresses.

However, defying the odds, the 39-year-old appears to be cured of the condition - which also resulted in her losing all her body hair.

It is not known what natural beauty products the celebrity may have used to help her regain her former look.

She has identified her recovery from hair loss as a result of her newfound happiness with rocker beau Johnny Davis.

Porter has been with the New Vinyl guitarist for a year and appears loved up when seen out in public with him.

Rather than concealing her medical condition, the star chose to raise awareness of alopecia areata - a condition the NHS says is suffered by around one in 100 people and is more common among teenagers and young adults.

This candid approach was welcomed by many sufferers - potentially including those using natural beauty products to tackle the problem.

A fellow celebrity who has experienced alopecia in the past is Hairy Biker cook Dave Myers, who had it as a youngster but has since recovered.
