The Best Places To See The Stars

If you want to see the stars, then the best place to see them is not Hollywood. In fact, the chances are if you head to Hollywood you will simply be greeted by a disappointingly grimy town a million miles removed from anything that resembles a star. In fact, the only way to be sure you can see some stars is to head to the best vantage points, and look up into the night sky.

Whether you are a keen astronomer with an array of telescopes, or just simply enjoy the romantic view of the twinkling orbs, knowing the best places to go to will help increase your enjoyment immensely.

Living in a city, the chances are the stars will be lost to you, even with the most powerful of telescopes. Instead, your best bet is going to be far removed from the smog and dust and light, in the countryside.

However, there are specific places that will grant you an even better viewpoint of the sky. Kielder Forest in Northumberland for instance is thought to be one of the darkest areas in England, offering a view completely unspoilt by light pollution. Lundy Island and Galloway Forest Park are also two places renowned for their great views of the heavens, and all of the above are well worth the trip for any amateur astronomer or die hard romantic.

Even for those with no astronomical knowledge whatsoever, telescopes can immensely increase the enjoyment of a night looking up at the sky and offer you amazing sights completely unavailable to the naked eye, bringing the more amazing images into sharp reality for you. So, if you love to look at the night sky, now that you know the places to go, it may be time to invest in one yourself and enjoy the experience that little bit more.
