NFC Technology Included On The Great Samsung Galaxy S2

The mobile phone market is one of the fastest changing industries imaginable with features that are groundbreaking one day soon becoming yesterdays news. There are some handsets however that are so forward thinking that they should be around for quite some time. Many of the top end handset from HTC are a good example of this and any new iPhone is normally loaded with enough quality to ensure it is not outdated at least until another model arrives. There is another name you can add to this list which is Samsung and their latest offering, the Galaxy S2, is being hailed by many as the best phone currently available. Such high accolade can be attributed to the fact that it does boast some excellent features including NFC capabilities.

NFC is one of those things that not very many people have used but most people have heard mentioned. It is a feature that really could change the way we live and that is why many smartphone manufacturers are developing models to embrace this. NFC, or Near Field Communication to use its full name, is basically a secure wireless transmission system which works over short distances of around four centimetres. So far this may sound not dissimilar to features such as Bluetooth but the key issue with NFC is that it is secure, thanks partly to the very short range. This has many practical uses but the one which could become life changing is the ability to pay for services using your mobile phone. By storing debit card details in your phone when it comes to making a purchase the phone can be swiped near a reciever and the purchase completed on your phone just as you would on the terminals we currently use with our credit or debit card. The implications of this is that you may never need to carry a wallet or purse with you again, you can effectively leave your house with just keys and your phone.

There are numerous other instances where the NFC features incorporated on the Samsung Galaxy S2 could be of benefit. Consumer electronics may have numerous uses for such a system including the easy transfer of music from the phone to a compatible device such as a lap top or stereo system. One area where it could also prove potentially huge is as an electronic ticket. Imagine if you will getting onto the train and simply waving your phone past a sensor instead of physically inserting a ticket into the machine, or turning up at a concert and simply walking past a specially designed terminal which will then verify that you have purchased tickets. Although many people see NFC as purely a wireless payment method, there are numerous other uses that make it both relevant and practical.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 treads new ground as far as modern smartphones go, and facilities such as NFC are just one area that shows just how far ahead of the game Samsung actually are.
