Who needs to take the Level 2 Food Safety Course?

The level 2 course material primarily deals with basic awareness of general food safety issues, good hygiene and meets any and all governmental regulations. It's perfect for cooks and chefs who are looking to advance in their fields and or move on to a managerial position in both the public and private sector. (restaurants, hospitals, prisons, etc)
Today's food handling and safety training instructors and course operators have targeted an expanding need for more effective Food Safety Coursework that relates to specific working environments. Learning material that more directly reflects real world food safety issues and qualifications as they relate to the industry in general.
Those who complete a level three program which can be done online will come away with an understanding of the following:
Legislation: past present and pending that deals specifically or indirectly with food service, manufacturing retail and handling in the UK.
Temperature control requirements: laws and accepted norms for all foods.
Food safety and hygiene standards as put forth by law in the UK.
Proper cleaning and maintenance of the workplace and equipment contained in it.
Basic principles and accepted norms of short term and long term food storage.
The latest technologies that is currently available in the food service, manufacturing and handling industries in the UK.
Cooking, reheating and hot holding all types of foods in the workplace.
Chilling, refrigerating and cold holding all types of foods in the workplace.
Common causes of food poisoning, as well as sources of contamination. (Micro-organisms)
Recognize high risk foods, as well as high risk food handling and storage situations.
Pest control in the food service and manufacturing workplace and personal hygiene norms.
Bear in mind that all four CIEH awards in food safety are required for certain position levels in the food industry as a whole in the UK. As a general rule level 1 would be for entry level positions and the other three award levels will be required as you move up in your respective career. You must have them.
The level 2 program takes a day to complete. However; be aware that other relevant food handing courses will be made available to you. These post graduate programs are not required by law but they do come with a certificate upon successful completion. Also a level 2 certificate is good for three years from your completion date and must be renewed upon expiration.
